If you've read some of my previous articles you've probably noticed a trend by now. A lot of the topics I discuss is about self care, self love and building your personal growth for a better lifestyle. Although I've given mention to the topic plenty of times, I feel it necessary for me to dedicate an entire article on this subject.


Prioritizing your self care can come in many forms. It can be in your health, your personal space or in the way you treat yourself on an emotional level. It is a strong belief of mine that our mind, body and soul are all connected, I like to call it 'my personal triangle of life'. Just like a triangle needs all three parts to complete the shape, so too we need all 3 [mind, body and soul] to complete our purpose and life.


Think of it like this: If your body isn't happy (not getting healthy nutrients, daily movement, self care), then our mind is not happy (depression, lack of motivation, negativity, procrastination). If our mind is not happy, then that leads to an unhappy soul.

And this can work with any order you decide to place it in since it's the cycle of personal development and if you lack in one, you are ultimately breaking the balance of the other two.


So to make my point clearer than clear, self care is super important and should not be something that is taken for granted or avoided. Doing things that make you feel happy, beautiful and confident to keep your days productive is literally the key to self love, building self esteem and all the rest that comes with it.


I want to share with you a few things you can try to work on to prioritize your self care.


  1. Make time in your calendar

  2. Pay attention to your needs

  3. Stock up on your self care goods (shaving creams, makeup, skincare, journal etc.)

  4. Remember to take baby steps

  5. Find a hobby

  7. Prioritize in some 'me time'

  8. Establish a good nighttime routine

  9. Listen to music

  10. Spend time with mother nature

  11. Laugh more often

  12. Exercise

  13. Eat healthy
