Designing my home is always a fun moment for me. I love to do my research and watch my home transform into something more. Your home mirrors your personality and vibes so go all out to make it look exactly like you wan it to be. To many people, freshening up the look can be done by simply adding more light and brightening up your living space. Here are a few tips that I've used in my own home and it really made the change I was looking for.
White. If it’s brightness you seek, the first thing you should do is paint your walls and ceiling white. This will allow for the brightness to bounce off of surfaces and create the illusion of a brighter room. You can also let your creativity take over and use white furnishings to complete your look!
Lightbulbs. There are two main hues that are used when it comes to your living space. The warmer glow, which is great if you want to create a romantic atmosphere and the white light which is great to brighten up your living space. If you are looking to brighten up your room, go with the bright white lightbulbs to give your home a fresher look.
Windows. Leaving your curtains opened, or better yet, using curtains that allow for sunshine to penetrate your living area will give you a brighter and fresher look.
Enhance with black. I know this might sound counter intuitive, I've worried about this myself when I decorated my own living space, but as it turns out the color black can indeed enhance the brightness in the room if used correctly. Introducing a stark black or dark colors adds touches of contrast that make the light areas surrounding them pop even more. Get creative and see where your imagination takes you!
Add more lights! Adding more lights such as lamps, undercabinet lighting, ceiling lights etc can add a tremendous amount of style to your home while at the same time provide a brighter look! Tip: Use LED strips or battery-operated tap lights for your undercabinet lighting. Some places I love to get my home decor inspiration: - Pinterest - Wayfair - Instagram
