Smoothies? Here’s what you need to know about them.


They are an excellent addition to your diet, especially to those who don’t include fruits and vegetables. You can make a smoothie bowl or a smoothie blend, either way, they are delicious and healthy.


Most people use bananas in their smoothies because they are available all year-round, and it is a popular fruit that contains essential nutrients. If you haven’t read already, I wrote about 2-minute Green Smoothie Recipe here that you can quickly whip in the morning.


Most of the ingredients found in smoothies are fruits, vegetables, and non-dairy products. These are the reasons why:

It also helps the muscles to contract and nerve cells to respond. As people age, potassium may help reduce the risk formation of kidney stones. There are many health benefits of bananas, such as blood pressure, cancer, heart health, diabetes, and digestive health.


  • Potassium lowers blood pressure, which may reduce the risk of strokes and other heart diseases. Lectin is a protein that you can find in bananas, and it may help prevent leukemia from growing. It also acts as an antioxidant that helps the body remove free radical build-ups. They are also high in fiber which helps lower cholesterol level and makes your bowel movement works best, according to an article by WebMD.


  • Berries are some of the healthiest food. It also has many proven health benefits like bananas, and they are low in calories, high in fiber, vitamin C, and have very rich antioxidants. Blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, goji berries, bilberries, acai berries, cranberries, and grapes are the healthiest berries according to an article from Healthline.


  • According to an article from Healthline, cocoa has many health benefits too. They improved heart and brain health, blood sugar, weight control, gives healthy teeth, and skin. Polyphenols, an antioxidant that you can find in cocoa, can reduce inflammation and improve cholesterol levels. It can improve circulation and hydration by protecting the skin from sunlight. You can add some cocoa to your granola bars, puddings, cold/hot cocoa, and dark chocolates too!


  • Dairy products such as milk are rich in calcium and Vitamin D, which is good for the bones; however, it’s not for everyone. According to an article from Healthline — dietary restrictions, personal preferences, intolerance, or allergies are just some of the reasons why. But don’t worry, there are plenty of non-dairy options like coconut, almond, and soy, which you’ll love.


  • Organic Facts said that peanut butter contains nutrients aside from its yummy taste. It is a rich source of protein, lowers cholesterol levels, a good source of vitamins, prevents type 2 diabetes, antioxidant properties, and many more. Same as dairy products, not everyone can consume it for the same reasons, but if you may want to give it a try, you can!

Chocolate Smoothie

Ingredients:

- Ripe Banana

- Cacao Powder

- Non Dairy Milk


Strawberry Banana Classic

Ingredients:

- Frozen/Fresh Banana,

Ingredients:

Mixed all the ingredients in a blender or in a bowl and voila! You have a healthy and delicious smoothie which you can drink or eat in the morning or during snacks.


There are a lot of smoothies you can make, depending on your preference. It doesn’t need to be a fancy Instagrammable one or an all-organic smoothie. A simple, healthy, and fulfilling one is just right. Just remember to choose the right ingredients and do not add tons of sugar.
