I have yet to meet someone who doesn't enjoy a good movie. I personally love watching movies and TV shows. Usually my watch time is super limited since I am so busy with my daily tasks, but now that we are all stuck at home and desperate for some kind of entertainment there are some amazing movies for you to watch and pass the time in an enjoyable way. Here is a list of 20 of my top favorite binge-watching-worthy movies and shows!
Frozen 2 (Disney+). OK. How can we not start with one of 2020's finest moments?! I've recently watched Frozen 2 and it was hands down such a great film! Do you think there will be a Frozen 3?
Aladin (Disney+). Another great movie going down in the history of Disney films. I watched this with Jacob last week and we really enjoyed it! Pst.. My favorite one is The Genie!
Jumanji: The Next Level (Amazon Prime). AHHH!! I don't even know where to start. Dwayne Johnson (The Rock)? Or Kevin Hart? Two of my favorites in the entertainment world -- and if you've watched the first Jumanji, this one should be on your to-do list ASAP!
Paradise PD (Netflix). Ok. So here's a show that is Adult rated (language, smoking and drinking scenes) but if you enjoy a good, laid-back show that will make you laugh, this is for you. I must say though, this is a nice chilling show but I personally do not like the forward racism and discrimination projected. (Overall it's still great to pass the time with).
Schitts Creek (Netflix). This comedy is one of my all-time favorites! No spoiler alerts >> check it out!
Reign (Netflix). I don't know what shows you might be in to so I'm giving you variety. For me, my binge-watching shows are of drama from the Victorian Era, Vikings and such. If it's the same for you too, I would highly recommend watching Reign! This will keep you company throughout your entire quarantine!
Spartacus (Netflix). Another Roman/Greek gladiator show that is totally to-die-for! (no pun intended)
The Last Kingdom (Netflix). Another one of my favorite actors, Alexander Dreymon (as Uhtred Of Bebbanburg). Vikings. Drama. War. Love
The Last Samurai (Amazon Prime). I can't even begin to describe how much I've cried in this movie. Aside from the fact that Tom Hanks is an absolute GOD in this film, there were so many valuable life lessons to be learned from a last surviving samurai. This is definitely a must-watch!
Self Made (Netflix). If you want to watch something that is empowering to women, this one is your best bet. I've just started the limited series 2 nights ago and I can't wait to see Madam C. J Walker turn out to be the boss she is! (Based on a true story)
Friends (Netflix). This show is an absolute classic! I believe Netflix removed Friends from their list but luckily, you can find the show on Amazon Prime.
That 70's Show (Netflix). If you've missed out on the six besties you better go back and watch it! Do I have a favorite? -- ALL of them!!
The Ranch (Netflix). Here's another chilling show -- Brotherly love, Fatherly drama and Motherly absent. Overall this is a great 3 season sitcom for you to try out!
In The Deep (Netflix). This 2017 Adventure movie is one to put you on edge with all the drama. Two sisters go into the Mexican sea [cage diving] and fight for their lives as they dive 47 meters down.
Braveheart (Netflix). Have you ever heard of Mel Gibson? When his secret bride is executed for assaulting an English soldier who tried to rape her, William Wallace begins a revolt against the King. P.S Did you know the Gibson didn't want to play the lead - he thought he was too old -- but Paramount wouldn't make the film without him.
Beauty And The Beast (Disney+). Another Disney classic favorite! Who knew Emma Watson was so talented and with an IQ of 138?
Maleficent 2 (Disney+). Angelina Jolie, the legend of all time, in my opinion. Did you know? Eleanor Audley, the actress who voiced the animated Maleficent also voiced Lady Tremaine (aka the Evil Stepmother) in Cinderella >> MINDBLOWN!!
Avatar (Disney+). I watched this years ago and I think it's time for a re-watch. Preview: On the lush alien world of Pandora live the Na'vi, beings who appear primitive but are highly evolved. Because the planet's environment is poisonous, human/Na'vi hybrids, called Avatars, must link to human minds to allow for free movement on Pandora. Who's watching it with me?
Incredibles 2 (Disney+). This family-friendly movie is so good with fuzzy socks and a cup of hot cocoa. Have you ever wished to be part of the Incredibles family?
The Nutcracker And The Four Realms (Disney+). This one I have not watched yet but will be doing so tonight! So excited to see another version of the nutcracker.
That's a wrap up for the 20 movies you can watch to spend your time with. P.S If you're ever in a dilemma for good movies to watch, Disney has got our backs from childhood!
