10 Ways To Make You Feel Happy and Healthy

What is happiness for you?

Happiness is always a choice. Happiness is a feeling; it can not be bought by anyone or by someone, nor is it given.

Happiness is not the same for everyone. If you ask people what happiness to them is, you would have a different answer. Happiness is personal.

How you achieve your happiness depends on how you take action. Life can be hard at times, problems or issues may arise, and it’s up to you how you deal with it.

Here are some ways to make you feel happy and healthy.

1. Sleep

Do you know how important sleep is? According to experts, an adult individual should have at least 6 to 7 hours of sleep.

I know this is something that not everyone could do since everyone has different situations. People have different types of jobs, depending on the industry they are in. They have different work schedules or work shifts.

Have you noticed people who lack sleep have mood swings? Most likely, they easily get irritated because of the lack of sleep. It can also significantly affect your health as it leads to gaining weight.

If you get enough sleep, it enables you to be more efficient and productive.

2. Exercise

Find a fun activity that you like. Some people find it hard to do this because they think it won’t fit into their daily schedules, it’s just a waste of time when you can do something else instead, or they don’t give a thought about it.

A morning walk with your dog or maybe a quick run or playing fun sports with your friends, or you might want to join a Zumba class perhaps.

There are so many fun activities or things that you can do, make it a habit. Don’t make excuses.

3. Drink Water.

This might be the most straightforward and effortless way to be healthy. Well, I am not saying that bSometimes it’s quite stressful to thinky just drinking water you become fit, okay? What I am trying to say is that drinking an ample amount of water every day has lots of benefits like it helps your digestion, it hydrates the body, and it helps flush away the toxins.

Limit or control your soda, caffeine, and sugary drink intake. As much as we love to have it, but the effect on our bodies in a long time could be much worse.

4. Cook

Cooking is not for everybody, I know. But if you think about it, most of these foods contain ingredients that we don’t know, right? And it’s more convenient for most people. Sometimes it’s quite stressful to think of what to cook for dinner or the next days to come, I could relate to that. The good thing about preparing your food is that you know and control what food you take inside your body.

It may not be fun to start with, but you can always try, there are many simple healthy recipes that you can find on Pinterest and videos on YouTube.

5. Worry Less.

Don’t overthink too much. When we take negative thoughts or overthink too much, our minds can’t relax, and it’s never good for us. It is easy for others to say not to overthink, but our circumstances differ.

6. Avoid using your phone.

In this day and age, almost everything can be seen and heard from the internet. It is not surprising how people have been using social media in their daily lives. Communicating has never been this easy.

Take some time to stay away from your phone and your social media. Too much usage of your phone and the negative effects that social media brings is not good for your health.

7. Declutter time.

When was the last time you cleaned your house or your room? A clean space helps you feel great and more relaxed. You can start by setting aside 15 to 20 minutes of your time, make use of the time just tidying, and continue it the next day.

8. Eat healthier food.

You are what you eat.

Eat fresh fruits and vegetables. Start your breakfast with a healthy smoothie — bananas, berries, some greens top with nuts. You could try to prepare some tuna salad for lunch, and you might want to try some healthy chicken pasta for dinner instead of takeaway pizzas.

9. Do something fun.

Try a new skill. Go for a weekend getaway. Want to try fishing? Go! Take swimming lessons? Good! Travel with your friends. Are you interested in the arts? Go to your local museum! Do you want to meditate? Do yoga!

Have fun with your family, board games, or play hide-and-seek with the kids or bake some delicious cookies that you love.

There are a lot of fun things that you can do. Things that leave not just fun but good memories. Do things that make you happy and at the same time, benefit your body.

10. Spiritual Connection.

How was your connection with God? Do you still ask for guidance? Do you go to church regularly?

It is not just about being physically and mentally healthy but also spiritually. You can find and join communities in your area and participate in their social activities. That way, you are not just helping others, but you are making connections as well.
